Theori signs MOU with Kookmin University, cultivating talent in future automobile cybersecurity

Cybersecurity firm Theori signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Kookmin University to cultivate talent in the field of cybersecurity for future automobiles.

The MOU ceremony took place on the 6th at Kookmin University, attended by key figures including Theori CEO Brian Park, Kookmin University's Future Innovation Director and Dean of the College of Automotive Convergence, Shin Sung-hwan, the Head Professor of the Automotive IT Convergence Department, Kim Jong-chan, the Head Professor of the Automotive Engineering Department, Lim Se-jun, and Professor Jeon Sang-hoon of the Automotive IT Convergence Department.

The MOU serves to nurture talent for strengthening the security of advanced IT-intensive future automobiles and to contribute to the development of the domestic future automobile cybersecurity industry. Kookmin University will provide know-how and accumulated educational capabilities in the field of future automobile cybersecurity, while Theori will be responsible for the creation and distribution of educational content.

In particular, Theori will offer a wide range of lecture contents from basic to advanced levels using its cybersecurity education platform, "Dreamhack." Kookmin University students can also earn academic credits by completing courses such as "Dream Beginners" (basic security lectures), system hacking, reverse engineering, and embedded systems.

Additionally, this agreement is made under the Convergence and Open Sharing System (COSS) project led by Kookmin University's Ministry of Education, planning mutual efforts to expand its application to several universities, including Keimyung University, Daelim University College, Sun Moon University, Ajou University, Inha University, and Chungbuk National University.

Theori CEO Brian Park stated, "We are very pleased to be able to provide students from Kookmin University and other universities with practical cybersecurity educational content. We will contribute to equipping them with the security capabilities required in the field."

Following this, Shin Sung-hwan, the Director of the Future Innovation Unit at Korea University, expressed, "We are pleased that the university can utilize Theori's various future automobile cybersecurity educational contents to structure a future automobile cybersecurity education program. It will greatly contribute to nurturing innovative convergence talent for future automobiles by combining it with the regular curriculum."

Meanwhile, Dreamhack is the largest security education platform in Korea with over 44,000 members, offering a wide range of educational content for everyone from beginners to experts. It has been conducting cybersecurity capacity-building training for major domestic IT companies such as LG Electronics, LG CNS, Dunamu, and Woowa Brothers, and is leading the way in developing education and curricula for the cultivation of quality cybersecurity talent.
